Custom Cam Clip
I just finished the installation of a custom cam spec'd by Patrick G and purchased through Shane @ Thunder Racing. The specs on the cam are as follows:
216/222 .561"/.566" 111+4 (Comp XE Lobes)
Comp 918 Springs and 7.4" pushrods were installed with stock retainers.
Here is a "so-so" clip of warm start-up and idle. I will try and get a better video at a later date.

What I explained to Patrick was that I wanted a cam that made the power of the venerable TR220 but had the power band of the common 212/218 since I have 4WD coupled with the mods in my signature. This is what he came up with. Initial impressions are awesome. Definately much more power than stock. From my limited time driving it I will say that I did not lose anything down low but definately gained HP/TQ @ 3500+. I still not have gone WOT so I can report on that later. Install was super easy and took less than 10 hours. Wheatly did my tune. Truck now idles at 700 or so. Slight surge when transitioning from stop light/sign to acceleration. I believe that will go away with more miles. Any questions or comments please feel free.

Tune was done for the cam. Just got it back from him this morning. Theoritical overlap for this cam is -3 degrees. Per the cam card, as ground overlap is -.83 degrees. I am running a cats, and MagnaFlow cat back plus the camera does not do the lope justice. No idea what dyno will be and I highly doubt it will ever get put on the dyno. I am hoping to run the truck sometime later this month. I will keep people posted. Just by guessing I am thinking about 35-40 RWHP with this cam.

Everyone thanks for the comments. I hope to report more as I get some more seat time/miles.
Charlie, I think the surge may not be an issue. Seems that when I am on an incline or flat road, and the truck is stopped with my foot off the brake (and not on the gas) it will surge until I proceed with acceleration. Maybe its the converter?
