Default Engine bearings poll...

can you tell that I have a build planned?
Clevite?...FM?...King?...Other?...
please note if you prefer a combination of brands as well...
i.e. one brand for rods, one for main, one for cam or any combination of brands for that matter and why...

i've used a couple of sets of clevite p-series bearings and they seem to work fine, only thing is the thin layer of babbit WILL peel up if a piece of trash gets in it. going with a set of kings on my motor just for that reason.

Any rhyme or reason to those choices?

shouldnt you make it a point to not get "trash" in an engine when you are building it?

"I don't care what your build'n, if you ain't use'n Clevite 77's, you ain't build'n it right!"

I'm copyrighting that quote right now. So if anyone from Clevite likes it, your gonna have to pay me to use it.

I've found just the opposite in pricing actually...at least at the wholesale pricing I've been looking at...
Clevite's & King's about the same...
King's less on the rods but higher on the mains...net diff...not much
FM / Speed Pro's slightly higher than either the Clevite's or the King's...
