Default Engine build help

Ok I have read many threads about this but the thread starter never follows through or continues the thread. I will continue this one. I am wanting to build a motor to go in my '04 RCSB. The motor will be sprayed. I am new to the LSX series, have only been around old small blocks.

Here is what I want. I want as much horsepower as possible but still have the motor behave in public, it will be a DD. Here is what I have so far. My base is a 6.0 LQ4 block bored to 4.020. I am going to run a LS6 intake with a NX direct port system. When N2O is used want to spray around a 200 shot. I want forged inernals, pistons, rods ,and crank. Don't want to spend a fortune on heads but want some good heads for my needs (will port a stock set if it is an option). My question is what is the best for me to get what I want, eg. what pistons, rods, crank, heads and cam. Don't mind spending money just don't want to go broke. So please don't throw out parts that have "if I had the money" in front of it, this is a garage build on a decent budget.

So if anyone could give me ideas on what parts and where to buy these, I would be grateful.

LS6 243/799 heads milled .005" for a true surface, 64cc chambers, mild port work
TrailBlazer SS intake, 90mm throttle body
Forged 4.030" flat top pistons (6.125" rod) with 2cc valve reliefs
6.125" Manley forged rods
Stock crankshaft
Comp Cams XER281HR (232/234, .595/.598", 112 lsa +2) with Patriot dual springs
Long tube headers, 3" true duals, Magnaflow mufflers

Should end up with a 450 rwhp, 430rwtq 370ci motor with 10.8-10.9:1 compression on premium gasoline. Add your 200 shot for a 10 second daily driven full size truck.

Okay thanks. But the bore I have is 4.020 and don't really want to take anymore material out of the block.

There will be more pistons available for 4.030". You can safely go 4.060" if you wanted. Have your machine shop sonic test the block before anything to know for sure exactly how far you can go.

Some have gooten away with more stock internals, but 2 probs are ur livin on borrowed time with NoS, and u may not reach ur RWHP targets without FI. U have a timeslip ur aiming for? Synergy's idea sounds pretty good...sounds like a best case scenario is all - lots of ponies tho!

Ain't that the name of the game build it, break it, repeat. I can have the shop take it on up to .030 over. Don't want to do FI out of my price range. Not trying to build a monster just some good power. Looking to get around 450 to 550 horses. But as for borrowed time the n2o will only be used maybe 1 time every 1-2 months. Don't get to drive truck much, work out of town most of the time but when I am out of town my mother uses it sometimes so want it to be a good DD. Didn't mention in the first post but the motor will have a t56 behind it and truck will have 9 inch rear (4.11s).

Oh ok sorry about that. Wanting all forged internals. Don't want to take no chances. If I am going to build it I want to do it right.

Using the stock crankshaft is still doing it right, don't confuse that. You're going to be well under the "safe" limit of about 1000hp on the stock crankshaft.

Ok, cause I have a crank for the block I got. It is balanced and grond and polished, .010 on mains and .030 on rods. That was one of my questions was if I could use the stock crank. Sorry for all the questions just not sure on some stuff with the LSX series been around SBC my whole life so this is new to me. On the parts you said to use where would the best place be to get them.

1. Nitrous pistons
2. I was thinking Eagle H-beam rods 6.125 Can get these from Summit

Other stuff for build I would need the What would be a good clutch and flywheel setup for the horsepower I am wanting.
