Finally ordered the pistons and rods.
Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered my pistons and rods, the last parts I need before I can get everything balanced and ready to build!
Went to Thunder Racing's website, saved me the taxes since they are in LA instead of TX.
Got the following:
Mahle Motorsport Forged 408 cid LS1 Dished Piston Set: 4.030" Bore, 4.00" Stroke
Callies CompStar Connecting Rods, 6.125" length, 2.100" crank pin, .927 wrist pin, LS1/LS6
And
Thunder Racing Modified LS6 Oil Pump
Should make for an interesting summer

What do yall think of this badge?
Thinking one on tailgate, maybe one on each front fender. Any thoughts?
Also, I got pistons and some more gaskets and the pump in this week, as well as my new 34" radiator. The rods were on back order apparently.

Sweet looking decal. It'd look awesome on the sides of a cowl hood IMO, but that's about the only place I like decals. I think it might look good on the fenders too like you mentioned, but I'd have to see pics of it to be sure

I got my rods in the mail today, as well as my JPA engine lift tool, thing is pretty nice, can tell it is strong! I test bolted it to the motor on the stand once it came in, havent had a chance to hoist with it yet though, should be next week!
The rods look awesome in person, I had forgotten they came with the ARP 2000 bolts too! Nice.
Anyways, I loaded up the flexplate, pulley, crankshaft, pistons, and rods in the truck and will be taking them to be balanced tommorow. Once they come back its build time!

And an update: The shop said that since I got some pretty good pistons and rods that there might not be much balancing required, and that the only part requiring balancing is likely to be the crankshaft, which means less $ to spend lol. Should be done by weds he said, so I can start building on weds night and hopefully be done by Friday afternoon(Friend is coming in from Florida for my bday and I am not going to waste time building a motor while hes here!).. Should be ready to drop in on the weekend of the 27th-29th. Awesome.
