Default God Awful Noise......

Ive done my initail oil change after my cam and dod delete install. Before the install I was running Royal Purple 5w30 and then did the cam swap, drove it for 150 miles and did my oil change with Pennzoil 5w30 and on the way back from the stop n rob I heard tapping and had to nurse it all the way back.. whats the deal? Is it the oil? Going from full synthetic back to standard? Did I jack something up or what? If I drain and refill with Royal Purple would it reverse the noise? haha Please help

Did you torque all your rocker arms to the correct specification?

Well Ive driven the truck for 150-200 miles and nothing has been a problem. I torqued them to 22 ft.lbs and let it roll...... been doing great since install. Just seems unusual that I did an oil change and all of the damn sudden it starts tapping like a midget is under my hood with a ball peen hammer!!!

whats the millage on your truck. i am gessing that you installed new lifters and trays to get rid of dod. truck running good even with the noise. is your oil pressure good.

I have good oil pressure and the truck seems to be running well. The truck is an 08, I have had it since 1 mile was on the clock and it has 21k now after 3 years of owning it. I did the thunder racing dod delete with the new lifters and valley tray. I trashed a rocker the first day after install bc of improper torque on them. Pulled my VC's off again and retorqued them CORRECTLY and has been running like a charm ever since. I am just banging my head against a wall trying to figure out why that changing back to a non synthetic oil has my engine tapping louder than Pee Wee Herman grappling Kimbo Slice!!!!
