Default Going to L92s, few questions.

Motor is a 370, h-beams, with mahle -4cc flat tops. Cam is 244/248 .612/.615 112 lsa. My plans are L92s milled .030 or .040. with cometic .040 head gaskets, ls7 lifters, L92 Vic Jr intake, NOS bigshot plate, Fast 1375 cfm 4150 plate that I already have. First off which bore gaskets do these heads require? For the guys that have milled them what length pushrod you using, ill prolly end up getting a pushrod length checker. I know it takes the offset intake rocker, do I have to use the l92 pedestals? How much nitrous can be run with these heads. Ive seen this same cam go 10.80 in an l92 408, I will just run this for the time being and maybe later Ill order a specd cam. Any things I need to know? Posted this on ls1tech with no replies.

You definitely need to get a custom grind cam. Won't work any other way

You will need a set of L92/LS3 Rocker Arm Support Stands, part # 12600936 which is for one head due to the spread valve guide spacing and offset intake rocker arms. As far as head gaskets go, you can use a head gasket for a 6.0L as the heads were also used on the L76 6.0L's. Some may think that only the intake rockers are offset, but if you've ever tried to use the old Crane valve-spring compressor, you will quicky learn it will not work due to the valve being spread apart. Someone needs to come out with a compressor designed the same but to fit the L92's......LOL

Ive always heard that the cometics are re-usable. Should I re-use mine or buy new ones. If I do should I go to .030 thickness, I want all the compression I can get. Also, just got my heads off and I checked how much the piston comes out of the hole with my dial indicator and its showing .018, this should not be? or my idicator is off.

Tyler, I'm not sure if you know Chris Baker from Lawton, but he has an l92 top end on his GTO. I'm pretty sure he has an iron block 370. He was planning on running a 300 shot on it within the next few months. On just the 100 shot it has gone high 10s.

Sorry I'm not much help, if you knew who he was, you might be able to pick his brain. He's a friend of Jerry, the one with the white 03-06 extended cab silverado

they may be reuseable, but i am one that doesnt take chances iwould buy new ones, what thickness i couldnt say i know you want all the cr you can get, so i guess if you can get a .030 then go for it, it sure will raise the cr.

dunno what the piston to deck height is, but i am fixing to do mine to have another cam spected.then have the pistions milled to deck height.. sorry cant help ya there...
