Default good news bad news...took engine apart

Good news: Bottom end is still good
Bad news: Lifter failed and took out cam
Good news: Get to try a different cam and lifters
Bad news: Have to decide which ones to get

Current Ppecs: P/P 317s Harland Sharp 1.7s, Manley Nextek .660 lift double springs, Manley 7.35 pushrods, REV 1.65/2.02 valves

Broken stuff: Comp high energy lifters, Bullet Racing cam 224/228 114 .570

Seams odd you lost a lifter..... I haven't keep up with your truck, did you have an oil pressure issue?

i had a sending unit issue i think...well might have been from this. but the noise started long after the oil pressure scare. the roller is also loose in the lifter...might have lost a needle bearing...or the failure in the roller may have caused the bearing to go out. either way just happy its not bottom end...

considering the GM Racing Caddie CTSVR lifters (250 @ SCPC) and the LEP maggie cam 224/230 .612 116

Lifter bore still o.k? I have the caddy lifters in mine, so far, so good...

damn thats not good... i've been getting a of and on ticking noise lately that i think is a lifter sticking or something? did you have any noises?

everything felt good and looked good yesterday in the lifter bore

ill check even closer this week.... thanks.

the noise was a hit and miss metallic ticking.

now it makes no noise at all...hahahaha

i dont think so...gonna pull the pan this week and check. i was working without a lift yesterday so it was kinda tough.
