GT2-3 in a 6L?

i've always heard that guys LOOSE boost when going with a aftermarket cam. Although, i think i understand what you're saying is that you will be gaining boost over you CURRENT cam since it's overlap is causing boost loss now.?
this is the only reason i havn't done the GT2-3 cam yet. I'm running a 2.8 pulley on my LQ9 and only seeing 8lbs of boost max. i don't want to loose any at all. i really would like to be making 10psi.

I can give a real world testimonial to that. When I put the LTs and true duals on, I lost 2psi. I went from 9 to 7. I was mad until the tuning got done and it made the exact same power on 7 as it did on 9. So, 2psi less strain on the engine and same power level. My hope is that the GT2-3 will get me the 2psi back because of the negative overlap. Plus I think the 118.5lsa will give me much better idle and street manners than my current 112lsa. Even though I will miss the slight lope in the exhaust.
