Default Guys with 243's

I just picked up a set of untouched LS6 heads and was wondering who was running them on there trucks, and if they had them milled at all? Thanks.

you have to mill them to keep compression at stock levels. they are a good upgrade for what they cost. i would send them to someone to have them ported to really get some bang for your buck.

I'd say to use 5.3 heads and get them worked over so you can run a higher compression.

Well what I had in mind was to use these LS6 heads. (which I imagine flow better than my stock?) Then have the milled to bump my compression. Am I going in the wrong direction? Anybody running 243's on there 5.3?

you have to mill quite a bit to actually bump your compression on a 5.3. you actually have to mill them just to get to stock compression. they're good heads for a 6.0 though.

I remember sport side swapped to some milled 243s with his 5.3L and 220 split duration cam and didn't gain hardly anything.
