Well if you already bought it I guess use it, its better than the stock converter which is 1700-1800rpm.
Are you worried about towing or MPG loss? Is that why you are reluctant to go bigger?
I would go at least 3000-3200rpm IMO, sooner or later you will get used to that 2600 in 1 week and say "man I should have gone bigger".
