I'm all about big inches but if is a DD and you are doing FI anyhow, i'd stick with the 370. It will do "enough", give better mileage & use less oil (possibly). For a reliable DD with minimal headaches and great power which is fun to drive my vote goes to a MP122HH and keep the boost at or below 12-13psi. This is coming from someone who has owned a Radix 112 as well as a custom front turbo on the same truck. The centrifugals have always intrigued me and work well but with your heavy sled you will get more off idle and plenty up top with a large roots.

I'm with TurboGibbs on this one. I'm building a DD and was leaning towards a stroker 408 but Richard@WCCH made it clear that it will be less practical and have higher risk of breaking on me. I'm all for bigger cubes but not if I have to do maintenance on it. Not that a forged 370 can't break on you either though.

If you go with a S/C I would look into the KB blowers, getting a 2.8L would make great boost and also be able to handle a larger motor down the road should you decide you want another couple 100hp. Also there arent any blower manifolds out there yet for the L92 heads. I havent seen any results yet from teh 122 to make me think it is such a huge leap over old 112. The oil consumption issue averages about 1 1/2 quarts every 3000 miles, not too bad for the insane amount of off idle tq, I dont care how efficient the new radix is. Ask TurboGibbs how my heavy *** truck took off out of the hole, N/A!!!

383ci. Add 12-15 intercooled psi with a MP122HH or Turbo. Add 4L80E, Go fast. Save money for next engine.

What truck is this going in again?
Even a 6L @ 6psi has traction issues. How do you plan to put this power to the ground?

First post it says an AWD Escalade. With a 383 you will run into the same wrist pin position problem as that is stroker crank and the difference in stroke is cut into the piston by moving the wrist pin up into the oil ring. If properly built the oil burning issue isnt a big deal, longevity? You arent going to get 100K out of the motor but I wouldnt think twice about getting 50K out of it especially with a 4" stroke. My motor had 4K on it when I tore it back apart and the piston skirts still look good and I have a 4.100" stroke. Someone show me where a 408 has "worn-out" please cause I havent seen one.

I forgot about there not being a maggie manifold for the L92's yet. That rules that one out. My vote, D1SC Procharger.

How loud is the procharger D1SC? Will the 370 and STS have enough low end grunt to help my pig off the line (especially with the lower compression for FI)?

Thanks a million guys!

I would go with Trick Performance's front mount kit for reduced lag and a 67mm, you can brake boost it and get 8#s and when you step on it, it wont be very much lag at all and will get that pig rolling. If you are really stuck on using the L92s it limits your choices alot since you knock out the manifold blowers. I would get a set of West Coast CYlinder Head stage II 6.0 heads and throw a KB 2.8 on there if it was me.

I went ahead, and bought the livernois 408 stroker RA from Lord Aries, so I guess that's the path I'm taking. $1800 shipped was a great price considering it retailed at $2495. I will keep you guys posted on how it goes.
