Default Header primary size and cam for 427???

What size would be good for both of those items? its a lifted truck on 33's for now may go to 35's. Just need a general idea nothing specific.

Thanx

what power level are you shooting for?
What kind of duty will the motor see, DD, weekend, mudding only?
do you have an converter that you plan to run, or will that be decided later?

As for primary size, 2" will allow for more HP high up in the RPM band, 1-7/8" will produce more TQ off idle. It all depends on what kind of setup you plan on running. Give us a bit more info and we can help out more.

Its not gonna be a daily, but if i needed it to be then id like to be able too. mostly weekend, mudding every now and then etc. Id say somewhere around 550ish to the wheels, not to conservative and not to crazy, if i need more then ill just put a 150 shot or so on it. Id say around a 3000-3200 stall not much more than that because of mud etc. I have a 4l80e that im rebuilding now so thats not a worry.

For a 427, you are going to need some good flowing heads to get to that power level. As for a cam, I'd say something in the 240s intake duration and 250s exhaust, with lift in the mid .600s. That's a standard split design and generally produces high hp and respectable tq. A reverse split design generally gets more tq off idle (great for getting heavy *** trucks rolling) but sacrifices some hp on the big end. I'd say high 240s intake and low 240s exhaust with matching lift in the .650" to .660" range. I know that lift seems high, but like I said, you are going to need to flow some serious air to hit 550 at the wheels N/A. I would have to imagine that the motor would have to be around 11.5 :1 compression to get there.

Why not just toss on a TVS? Have you seen the numbers they are making with stock bottom end motors? It is awesome
