I guess I'm confused as to how your's being milled down .045 would bring you to 59 and not somewhere around 56.5?

Can someone please school me?
His were actually measured, so I think his would be more true.

.006 = 1cc is really an approximation. The more you take off, the less accurate it will be. This is due to the bowl shape of the chamber.

Makes me wonder how big my chambers actually are then.

I figured since his were measured, they were probably accurate, I wasn't trying to say that his machinist didn't know what he was doing, I was trying to say that I didn't know what I was doing

I had to take .050" off my 5.3 heads to get to a 55cc chamber. I have the same cam 226/230 esp, with no ptv. I hit 7200 often, but I have arp rod bolts too.

Yea the more you mill off the less cc it take out. Because of the bowl shape of the combustion chambers... The guy who done my heads builds a lot of drag and race engines and has been in business for a long time.. He knows what he's doin

I think on the LS heads its more like .007 per cc. I have helped on 2 setups that used heads with .045 cut with no fitment or ptv problems what so ever.

Pat said 59cc chambers was 10.8 with a stock head gasket but everyone else said 11to1
