Hot cam
I just bought a '04 rcsb w/4.3 5sp and my bro has done his 6.0l swap so his 4.8 is laying around. How well would a hot cam do in the 4.8? I know that a 218 is supposedly a large cam for the 4.8.
Cheater cam: 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA off idle-6800rpm (found this on Thunder Racing)
Hot Cam: 218/227 .525/.525 112 LSA
04 ZO6 cam : 204/218 duration 0.555/0.551 117.5 LSA
I don't know just browsing whats a Mildly wicked cam in the 4.8? I guess gas mileage doesnt matter anymore we're all gonna get raped anyway, lol. I plan to step up to a 6.0l but can't afford it at the moment so i'm going the cheat route for the moment

if i were you, i wouldnt even bother swapping in the 4.8. it's a pain going from v6 to v8, why not just do it right the first time and throw in a 6.0? i realize the 4.8 is free or cheap, but 6.0s arent that expensive.

well im leaning towards that also but ,lol, I've got 2 motors laying around already and 5 vehicles in 1 driveway which isn't mine soo im trying to clear some room because if anything i'll dump something off but right now i don't want to clutter up more space. So thats why i'm just looking at a mild cam to put in the 6.0 when i get it and any other bolt-ons.
