Default how to go about building a 408???

i was wondering would it be cheaper to buy an assembled 408 from texas-speed or to buy a used block, bore it, then buy the rotating assembly seperate and have somebody put it together for me? thanks fellas

Just my opinion, if you have a GOOD machine shop and a GOOD assemebler then it might be cheaper to buy it in pieces then assemble it. if you buy it from texas-speed at least they have a good rep and it is all done there.... Personally i would buy the short block from texas-speed...

Buy a short block. I had to wait 6 months to get a motor sleeved once cause race season hit and the shop got busy

sdparts.com has good deals on short blocks also

After actually seeing the cost put together IMO it's easier to just buy the short block.

Talk to richard and rex at WCCH ..... They Build me the baddest 408 ever !!!! and I am not having them built my new Bullet..

My 408 project will total well under 6k. The assembled shortblock was more than half of that.
