Default How good are the LQ4 heads?

I think I have a low oil pressure issue with my motor in my HD. It has the LQ4 in it, I know the CR is lower in the because of the heads having a 72cc and the pistons being dished. What I am thinking it having the heads milled, and getting a -2cc dish. That would get the CR closer to the 10.5 range with a 68 or 65cc head. My question is how good would the heads flow with a mild port and polish job and have them decked. Or, would a set of 243s be better with less money in them. I will swap the pistons, and a better cam once I find out exactly what the issue is. I was told the oil pressure sensor was bad, I bought a new one and replaced it last night. The oil pressure is still showing low. I am going to check the pressure at the filter and then at the sensor. Does anyone else have any clues as to what it might be. I know I got off topic and if I need I will start a seperate thread but thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks

Yep The main difference is just the chamber size.

Can you give some specifics about the oil pressure problem?

I am going to have a friend check the oil pressure at the filter and check the pressure at the top of the motor. I bought the truck from Mike at Vengeance and he said that they put a mechanical gauge on it and it had good pressure. I thought the sensor was bad, so I bought a new one and replaced it last night. I am still not getting a solid reading on the dash. Mike seems to think it is either the wire between the sensor and the ecu or the ecu and the dash. I will have more info about it tomorrow. I have put 4k miles on it since I bought it with no problems. It it strong and burns no oil. It has 60k miles on it if that matters. It has a cam in it with hardened push rods and Comp 928 springs. It has a little vavletrain noise but I thought it was the stiffer springs more than anything.

If I do have to build the motor I will just port these heads and get new pistons. I hope I don't have to, because by doing that it pushed my Camaro futher back or forces me to rush and not give it the attention to detail I would like. Thanks for the help guys, any input is awesome

if your talking about the 03' model listed in your sig it's probably the stepper motor in the guage cluster.

But it shows pressure it just does't show the right amount. Could it still be the problem?

It's possible....the stepper motors in those have issues sometimes. That's how I got this pic, lol. It's still showing speed, just not the right speed.
