I did plugs and wires first, MSD wires and new delco plugs.

I can't see 5 out of 8 injectors going electronically bad, clogged maybe, but not open or shorted. If in fact the injectors are the prob, 06tx4.8's injectors seem like a good deal as long as they'll swap right in for you. (not sure what year your truck is and if return/returnless makes a difference, but I don't think that it does). If your truck happens to be a 99, you'll need the PCM re-tuned as 00 and up injectors flow like 24.7 lb/hr vs. 19 or 21 for the 99's.

*EDIT* just checked your first post, since you're an 04, those injectors should be a direct swap...

Some guys have removed them and cleaned them out with carb cleaner, but I'm not sure how successful they were...

If you have clogged injectors, find a shop with a Motorvac fuel system machine and have them serviced.

I filled up today, put 23.7 gallons in it, cleared the code and drove for 68 miles before the code came back, cleared it right there and then, drove home- hasent been on yet.

I pulled the rails and injectors on mine. I sprayed carb cleaner into the rails, and the ends of the injectors and tons of junk came out. Good idea to change fuel filter also.
Mine did the same as yours, kinda has a lopey idle. When you step on it, it bogs down then slowly picks up.
