Cool, thanks for answering that and clearing that up for me i was actually referring to the crank sorry i wasnt being specific.. Guess, I'm still going to give it some consideration then...since i could always throw a 150shot on the all forged setup... Thanks again nightrunner.

I couldn't agree more. It's just a number. What matters most is what you do with that number. I like somebody's signature in here about dyno numbers being dick measuring tapes. Can't remember who's sig that is, but I spat pop out my nose the first time I read it.

Number are just that, numbers, but it will give you a good idea on where you will end up. A friend of mine drew, has a buick gn that he drags, its set up for the 1/4 bla bla bla.... the car is consistant 10.3-10.5 car in the 1/4. Put it on the dyno and it has 442 whp. the only reason the car runs those times is do to the launch, gearing and weight reduction.

Bottom line is you all did a grate job in answering my quiestion. For me the best way to go is the 8.1L, its will have more usable tq and be cheaper to build.

I think you are making the right decision with the 8.1L... I was never that impressed by the way a diesel pulls. yea it has 800lb/ft of torque and can pull a house, but it still feels like a slug compared to a N/A big block with similar amounts of HP. the "snappyness" just isnt there.
