how much can a LQ4 take?

If your going to build the internals it can hold up to anything but for a stock block it could handle up to 10 PSI boost with ARP rod bolts and other stuff like a meth controler I'd say something around the 500HP+. It all really depends on what your plans are.
You should do some research about it and I am sure you'll find alot of info.

I have seen some big HP claims but not to many time slips. It might last for a while making 800hp on a dyno, or spinning the tires on the street. But run some true mid 10 sec passes in a 4900lb 4x4 truck, and beat on it daily for 6mos it will let go. Just depends on the tune, and what you are going to do with it. The rods are the week link. I would trust a stock 6.0L with studds to last awhile at ~600RWHP. Start getting up around 700 and your on borrowed time if you run it hard.

Didn't dyno it after I got it running right. Went a little over 700 corrected with a conservative tune, no meth before I ported the heads. Truck has been 10.59@5000' Da with the engine on it's way out, is 4x4 and 4900lbs. Dyno's will always vary, and are really should just be used as a tuning tool. I would say it is better to use track times to evaluate power. Also a lighter truck will be a bit easier on the engine. I think JJ has a stock 6.0 in a Rc, 2wd truck running high 10's, near sea level and it is still alive.
