as long as its newer than 2001 (i think it was 01 and newer) you'll be fine. I cant member what all needs to be changed. But if its older than 01 you're fucked.

I couldn't tell by looking in the spark plug hole. I was pulling the pan to do rod bolts anyway, and looked at the connecting rods. The LQ9 has beefier rods.

if its a lq4 you will need your current flexplate to mount it to the 60/65 converter

I would have dropped that thing in with the wrong flexplate

I assume by "flexplate" you mean "flywheel"...at least that's what I grew up calling it.

Flywheel is for a manual, flexplate is for an auto.

sorry, it's a bad habbit of mine. Either way, I now know that I need to change out that round toothed device strapped to the back of the block
