Ah I see what you mean, I was only thinking of single springs. I know the valve seats and seals are one-piece in the LS heads, and to run dual springs you need to change the seat/seal to a two-piece like that kit includes but I have to admit I'm not sure what the difference in base diameters are.

I'm assuming it's the new seat diameter, but I don't know why there's two choices. Valve stems in the LS heads are all 8mm in diameter, and the spring pockets should be the same diameter so what's left to account for?

haha I was like, sheesh you dont have to yell about it. thanks for the info

Has anyone tried working the combustion chamber any on their heads to get a larger chamber, and if so, did you need new valve seals?

i am running the patriot gold kit with harland sharp 1.7s and manley pushrods with ls2 lifters REV valves and 317 heads. the rockers are a bit noisy, but other than that its been smooth sailing. give richard at WCCH a buzz. always a wealth of info and a nice guy.

I called WCCH today and Dave (I think?) was nice enough to answer a few questions for me. Awesome guy to talk to.

He definitely recommended the dual springs, specifically the pat golds, for anything over .550" lift. And stock rockers with the truion upgrade if they need it.

Looks like ill be going with the pat golds

I am running Patriot Golds as well, no extra vavletrain noise in mine. I know some springs are noisy.

My Comp LSL lobes a slightly more aggressive than yours, and Im running 918s. Im at 219/235 .607/.621. Not a problem at all.

I run 918s on every engine I put together, unless its a race setup that need duals. The lightweight springs help in valvetrain control. People jsut dont know how to setup a valve spring typically.

pac 1518 are all you need. at .600" lift and under single beehives are sufficient. dyno tests have shown a loss in horsepower with heavier, higher pressure dual spring kits. you only need duals when you are actually pushing .650" lift. that and the 1518s will drop right in without changing anything like valve seals and seats. i have 918s on one motor and just put lunati beehives on another.
