i want to put an 02 5.3 litter in a 94 suburban

Unhappy i want to put an 02 5.3 litter in a 94 suburban

can i put a 2002 5.3 litter motor out of a youkon in a 94 chevy suburban , if so what all do i need to do this. i have both trucks . and is it worth doing or should i buy a new crat motor for the suburban. it is all about how much it costs, which every one is cheaper i want to do. you can email www.traxxaskelly@aol.com

If it's all about cost, I'd get your 5.7 L engine rebuilt (don't even go the crate engine route unless you want more performance). If you want more performance, convert you 350 to a 383 or get a compatible high torque 383 crate engine (long or short block). That way, you don't have compatibility issues. If you do this, you'll probably have to have your ECM/PCM reprogrammed.

You will have a lot of adapting to do to install the 5.3 Gen III in the 94. I have a '92 Suburban that I've owned and maintained since new and a 2000 Yukon with a 6.0 that I've owned and maintained since new. I'm a former diesel truck mechanic and I know both vehicles well in this case.
