idiot question. head bolts/ head studs whats the difference
ok i think i know the answer but i want to make sure. im looking at arp fasteners for my heads.
ARP head bolts= just like stock but not TTY and stronger (reuseable?)
ARP head studs= put in studs probably loctite them in right. then there is just nuts that you use to bolt the heads down.
did i get these right? which is better for say 12psi?

Thats pretty much it, but if you look, you can find the GMPP set that is almost identical to the ARP kit for 20 bucks. Its discontinued now but you would probably have luck on ebay. You pretty much nailed it. The stock bolts will work, but by that i mean a new set of stock bolts. Like you said, they are torque yielding.

hey i stated this was an idiot question, your not supose to laugh at me.
i guess ive never seen a 12pt nut before.
i thought they made the 12pt socket so people will strip the bolt/nut and get all pissed off.
ok that is all, go back to your normal activities!!
