from my research our bottom ends are plenty strong. for me i wanted that added insurance. i currently spin the 5.3 up to 6300. i think slowprocess spins his 6.0 up to 6500. both are on stock bottom ends.

Ok John, Matt rates all truck mods in how many beers it takes.

Example: Tranny cooler install (no stock tranny cooler starting from scratch)= 2 beer job.

So judging by your info given. Rod bolt install on stand= 4 beer job?

Are you guy's revving your motor at 6800rpm+ ? There is absolutely no need for ARP or similar rod bolt's till then unless you make some good power like 500+ to the tires and even then the piston/rod combo should be changed.

Just wondering because I would hate to see everyone think they need this upgrade for lower revving/hp trucks.

yes, a lot of us make over 500hp. no, not all of us rev past 6800 rpm. however, i'll take as much strength that i can get. if a piston blows or rod then so be it.

I actually measured that one time...it's about 4ft/lbs to open a can and around 3 to open a bottle (I was REALLY bored and drunk one night)
