That's a healthy cam for a 408. What trans and torque converter are you going to be using?

I was planning yank ss4000 HEHE and built 4l60e but a 4l80e is looking for better choice.

I would commit suicide if I had to drive that cam around daily. Do you have any experience with cams that size? You would probably have to spin that thing to 7500 to make peak power! haha

Who ported your heads?

Well the usable range of power on that would be 3500-7k rpm so in a 5000 lb truck you might as well get out and push it from a stop. You would need retarded big gears and that 4k stall wont do a thing. A 227/235 lsl cam on a 113+4 would be a lot more fun and drivable.

theres nothing wrong with that cam and stall being streetable,is it optimal probably not just depends on what you like, i run a 25x/26x on a 621 113+2 i drove my RACE truck many have called it every where i have almost 3k miles on it and she runs strong,i detune it for gas mileage, you get a good no not good a great tuner then youll have NO issues!!, now if youre gonna keep it NA with a little juice and you want all out power try some 4:56 gears i ran 4:88s and my truck was and is a monster on the street, torque comes in just over 4k hence the stall i have yet to put it on a dyno but i plan to soon, the rearend i run is still a 10 bolt though i went down to a 4:10 gear for the nitrous shot i plan to run, i wish i would have kept 4:88s in i just loved them, it hit hard and i was close to where i was wanting to be cutting mid to high 1:40s 60s and trapping 120s+on motor, now that i made changes to compensate for the big shot i lost some mph and 60 ft times.

i also run a 4l60e behind it shes been 10.4 at a 132 on 150 shot with little spin off the line, only thing i can say is stiffen that rearend as in a good 4 link or ladder bar set up, if you have to much flex in the pinion it wont last long! by the way that SS4k will flash its *** off in a truck, the only issues youll have is better make your rolls around 40-50 mph lol im breaking loose right at a 60 punch.

do as you please but it sounds like you want it all, so id listen to the ones that have ran such a setup on the street!!!

7500 rpms aint **** for a LS motor, ive done it numerous times on a stock lq9 shortblock!!

rpms is horsepower!!!
