I have stock rod bolts and shift @ 6600. I trust my tuner/builder, when i asked him about the bolts he did not think them necessary. Now that i've said that, knock on wood!

people change the rod bolts way too early in these motors. they can handle up to 6700 ish more than people think. im pretty sure v8 used to run his to 7000 and didnt have a problem. its one of those cheap insurance things yea but you dont always need to do it especially if you arent putting that kinda load on them every time you start it up. every once in a while to 6800 shouldnt break them

HOLY COW....does this cam pull good up top untuned. im talkign this SOB doesnt quit pulling at 120+ mph and 4.10 gear.

lol NO IM NOT SHIFTING AT 6700. I WILL try 6100-6200 and then see how it feels on the spray. I ran a best in the 1000ft of 11.90 on stock cam. Lets see if th is cam will knock .5 off that.

this cam pulls hard btw off idle. I do have a 2800 converter but their is no lag.

6200 or so will be a good shift point for that cam.I have spun my dads with that same cam to about 6600RPM and it fine of course but there was no need to on his.His truck with that cam the peak HP was at about 5900RPM or so.
He has a 5.3 and we dynoed it before and after the cam swap. After the GT2-3 cam was in along with tuning it,it gained 32rwhp damn near the whole powerband, and this is on a Z71.
the final numbers were 275rwhp and 300rwtq I think,I will have to look again since it has been awhile since I looked at it,but that is the correct hp numbers

It seems like we talked about this not too long ago and the consesus was that it would be a good cam for a n/a 5.3 regardless...

you should emal people, email john at futral motorsports or the people at thunder racing and comp cams and see what those techs have to say. or you could call up performance shops and ask them what they think. any cam that people have in the 5.3's or whatever will feel smaller in your 6.0. the more the cubes, the bigger your cam can be and still keep your rpms in a decent range.
