Default LQ4 cam and head ideas

There have been many similar questions out there, but none of the answers I'd like to hear. I'm at a loss so I hope someone can chime in and thow me a bone to help.
I want moderate gains from a cam and head combo for my '03 LQ4, I'm shooting for 475-500 engine HP and TQ. The catch is I want the TQ curve really flat and to peak under 4500 rpms and the HP to peak around 5700 rpms. The best I've found in the rpms I'd like is 435 TQ/HP at best, this is ok but not what i want (pretty much stock).
This is so frustrating becasue a Gen I, 355, 10:1 CR, 230'ish cam on a 110, with a set of lightly ported vortec heads put down 464 HP at 5700 and 481 TQ at 4400. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ort_dyno_z.jpg
Rest of the article:http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ds/index2.html
You could almost build the whole Gen I engine for less than what I'm trying to spend on a cam, heads, tune. And the Gen I will have better low end power.
Putting in a small cam, like the stock '01 LS6 cam, and a 10.5:1 CR, and some springs may get me to the 435 mark. Regrinding the LSA down to a 110 with a +4 advance may get me to the 450'ish range. But I think that's it, maybe a set of WCCH stage II, and an intake and a 90mm TB might get to the 475 mark but they push the cost up a little too much. I'd like to be done at $2500 with headers and a tune, maybe $3000. Do these figures work? Am I in the ballpark.
Does anyone know of any "tricks" or combos to make this possible? I'm really stuck.
Thanks a lot for all the ideas!

Seems to be a few of these packages that are pretty close to what you want.

man you need to change the title of your post and add 450+HP to it. Just reading the title made me think that there's some new guy that has no idea what he's talking about.

great searches silent1. I need to read up some more over there

You're too concerned with output numbers. Just install a set of LS2 or LS6 heads to raise the compression and put in a cam with duration around 220-224 range with a 112 LSA.

That's some good info. I'm very aware of combos like that, there are lots of them. All of the pieces to make those numbers push over $4000, I'd be better to buy a 112 for the same money. I'd have close to 500/550 with all the off idle power I'd need.
TFS has some great heads the only down side is that the L92 w/ a L76 made more peak TQ at a lower RPM (ave about the same). And almost as much HP with the same engine and cam. The L92 heads and L76 intake with TB and injectors combined cost less than the TFS heads do by themselves. I've almost got enough left over for headers.
TFS test: http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ylinder_heads/
L92 test:http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ine_l92_heads/
Below 3k I would be giving up 10-25 lbft of TQ but I can't complain because it makes it back up on top and does it sooner than the TFS. Plus from what I've read larger valve heads like the L92 are harder to "tune" with the right cam choices. They need small splits and less over lap. Something like that, I'm no expert. But I think with the right cam some, not all, of that low end could be made up.
If I were to stay N/A and spend around $4000 I would do something like this:

As mentioned previously... Iron 408, stock casting L92 heads, REV valves, L76 intake, 36lb. inj, NW90, 11to1, Kooks 1 3/4 LT's w/cats, 3.73, Textralia, LSK 231-235 110+0 in my CTSV

It's post #30, 2c5s. That dyno graph is SICK on the low end. Small cam too.

I think that's where I might head just to be done with it. Do you have any dyno graphs of this combo?
Thanks
