Default lq4 and ls2 parts compatibility

Im wondering if a crank from an 05 ls2 (has the 24 tooth reluctor wheel swapped on) will be able to drop into a 2000 lq4 without changing anything else (sensors and whatnot)
any help is appreciated

Thanks, Gary

how critical is this? why would the block need to be bored? do you think it would be ok if I were to just throw in a crank and new bearings. the lq4 i have only has 16,000 miles? the motor is going to basically stay stock, maybe a mild cam and heads

thanks, for the help

If you are changing the rings I would ball hone the cylinders.

stock cranks are pretty much similar balances. youll be fine for most part but i would install new rod and main bearings. leave the pistons in the cylinders and use ARP rod bolts and main bolts

You don't want to change the mains without an align hone since they load differently and will push them out of round

sorry im kinda a newbie to all this, wheres a good place to get main bearings/ rod bearings and arp bolts.

Ive had the motor all of one day and ive got the crank out and the ls2 crank should be on its way shortly. im surprised no one has just machined the 99-00 crank flanges down. seems a lot easier/ cheaper, just chuck it up in a lathe and start making some chips
