Default LS in a OBS, help me finish my top end!

I purchased a 6.0 and 2wd 4L80e Combo out of a 2000 Chevy 2500 to go into my OBS Escahoe which is L31/4wd 4L60e.

I am putting all my money in the top end, help me finish a few pieces to my puzzle. In the end when it is all said and done I am going to throw some sort of F/I in (options are endless).

I read numerous reviews on the ls9 cam which I am going to do. But have found nothing about what it takes to go into MY MOTOR. I know people upgrade to ZR1 Springs... Everyone posted about newer models exspecially the 6.2.

What will I need to run it in my truck?

I junked the the orignal heads and purchased these

New Precision Race Components PRC CNC LS3/L92 heads
GM Hollow stem intake valves
Factory GM 1.59 exhaust valves
PRC .650 lift Dual Spring Kit

Question...I still have the rockers and orignal push rods OEM head, will they work? If not what do I need?

I also need a stock L92 UIM manifold, will all my stock stuff bolt up to it or I need a complete one? I can get a stock UIM from LS2 GTO...will that work?

What makes you want the LS9 cam? Cheap upgrade? There are better cams out there. If you are dead set on one you will need a single bolt cam sprocket from a newer engine. You may need more than that. Research it.

Why would you need ZL1 valve springs? You have brand new PRC springs on your heads.

Rockers and pushrods - Yes but if you install an aftermarket cam you will need hardened pushrods. If you are going with an LS9 cam and F/I I would personally still install hardened pushrods.

No, the LS2 manifold will not work with those heads. LS1, LS6, LQ4, LQ9, 4.8 (LR4), 5.3 (LM7) will NOT work with those heads. look at the intake port differences between your old heads and new ones.

LS1 - Cathedral ports
LS3 - Square ports

Search the Comp trunion upgrade. I suggest that as well.

Thanks for your response!

I want the LS9 Cam b/c I have seen many HAPPY results with boost.
Ok Hardened Pushrods...check
What about rockers and guide plates? I assuming i will need them for a L92. Stock will work I assuming?

I have done some researching but found all GMT900 build threads. This is on 00 LS Motor (Which is less desirable of the bunch :/ )

stock rockers will not work, L92 heads take a different intake rocker than the exhaust one

Wasn't sure on the rockers.

Looks like he answered it for you ^^^

Also, did PRC mill these any? Be careful on your push rod length.

Mill what? Heads are CNC ported...

What length pushrods are needed? Think for my sake...Gt-2 Lefienger is easier?

I am going to pass on the Unions...my goal is 500-600HP. I clicked on 3 threads and no one has anything good to say.

Just found this via google...you are correct.

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...change-491158/

Cam, 1 Bolt Sprocket, Dampner, & Front timing cover with cam sensor.

Just spent a few hours stripping, cleaning, and painting my entire front timing cover.

Hmmmmm

Ligenfelter GT2 Cam it is.

The deck on the heads could have been milled.

You are gonna need to get a pushrod length checker to figure out the correct length.

Ok, I will order a push rod checker tonight or tomorrow mourning. I was attempting to do some research on a GT2 Cam but instead ended up scoring a L92 intake which I desprately needed! Next is to find a 90mm TB to mate to it.

Assuming my UIM is just garbage or is there any value to it?

I think on my day off I might just give Lingenfelter a call see what they have to say.

Once my motor is assembled I can start ordering Headers, 06 HD Radiator and E-Fans. Ms. Is complaining about all the boxes laying around.
