Default ls1 347 vs 5.3L ?

I have my ls1 from my TA sitting in my garage and it has me thinking. I want to start modding my truck which is a 01 Silverado with a 5.3L and I was thinking of swapping out the 5.3L for the Ls1. I daily drive my truck and pull with from time to time so I am going to go with a smaller cam like a tr220 and a small stall close to 3000. My question is how much more power will the ls1 make compared to the 5.3L assuming that they will have the same supporting mods. I plan on getting headers and a cutout but I am going to leave the intake and tb stock. I already have stage 2 heads sitting on my ls1 but if I stick with the 5.3L I will sell them and buy stage 2 5.3L heads. What do you guys think? Is it worth going through the trouble of swapping out the short block? I would be doing the swap myself by the way.

There are a couple of guys on here with an ls1 swap. Most go with the 6.0 though. I think its a worthwhile swap either way more cubes=better

No replacement for displacement. The vortec might be a little better down low for its size, but i dont know how it compared directly to a 5.7.

I think an ls1 with a small cam and truck intake is something to help you out....

both engines with the same mods, the ls1 will probably put down around 25 to 30 more hp than the 5.3.

That is what I wanted to hear. My ls1 long block is in the shop right now getting checked out, so hopefully if everything looks good I will swap it over this winter. Thanks
