Default LS6 cam and springs

My friend is gonna sell me an ls6 cam and springs for $200 bucks.. What kind of gains should I expect with them, a 2800stall and a tune?

Guess you are talking inreference to how much time you will drop in the quarter with those mods I would say close to a second. That cam should drop you 2-3 tenths since its not a very radical cam, tune ~4 tenths and the stall 3-4 tenths is what I would say. I dropped .8 in the quarter witha tune, 3000 stall, and cutouts.

Wow! Thats a large chunk of time off.. I will also do cut outs as well.. Should I run dual cut outs and what size? After cats or in front? I decided to go with 26918-16 springs with the LS6 cam.. So when I get a bigger cam, dont have to switch springs.

I just installed the 01 LS6cam and springs in my 02 Silverado 5.3 last weekend. I can tell you it makes a very noticeable difference and was well worth it. It did slow the idle down a bit and made the exhaust alittle deeper sounding. I would go for it.

Nice to know people are getting good results with this it. At what RPM are you shifting with this cam?

Hell yeah!! With that 2800 stall it will be perfect.. It may make a bit more of a difference on a 4.8, since it smaller displacement.. But yeah how many rpms do you go upto?

Yes, it would probably make go further but, I am afraid to turn the stock bottom end much further.
