As long as you don't get coil bind, I would run the ls6 springs.

They won't as loud and, being an OEM spring, they will last longer.

I would run the Patriot dual golds, yes they are a bit overkill as far as lift goes but I have yet to hear of any failures from them.
Trust me, for 255.00 you get quality and peace of mind that you wont pop a spring.

An extra 100.00 now instead of possibly replacing a head and piston later.. Its a no brainer...

I run LS6 springs with the cam in my sig and LS6 springs in my wife's Tahoe with a TR224. The TSP224 cam is on the XER lobes with a .581 lift and is too much for LS6 springs. I'm not sure running Patriot Golds is needed on a cam with a lift only in the .560's. Nothing like enough spring pressure to try to beat the valve seats to death. You may not break a spring, but you have a better chance of ripping the valve in half. How many on here have actually had an LS6 spring break?

So how I'm pretty much gathering that the LS6 springs would be ok. It is just RECOMMENDED that you upgrade right?

I am going to have my shift points about 6000-6200. I really don't see a point in going any higher looking at the dyno results. Let me know what you think...

I think those shift points probably aren't high enough to take full advantage of that cam.

Found this thread on a search and wanted some input. I have the ls6 springs and cam now but want a larger cam. Id like to run the comp high lift xr275hr

222 224 561 568 114lsa cam

But Im not sure it will be ok based on the lobes it has. Opinions anyone?

I've read here that the PAC springs are a good alternative to the Comp 918's (I believe that they're available from SDPC)...I'm an LS6 spring advocate myself but wouldn't use them with XER lobes such as the TSP224, like Zippy mentioned.

Isn't that the same cam that Zippy has? He uses LS6 springs with it...
