I Barely Get That In My Stock Rcsb.... WHAT KIND OF IDLE CARACTERISTICS DOES THAT C1 CAM HAVE COMPARED TO THE TR224?
I have the C2 cam. It's in a 5.3. The C2 is on a 112 lsa the Tr224 I had was on a 114 Lsa so it idles a little ruffer. The TR cam took about 5 minutes worth of tuning to get it to idle like stock. The C2 took a while longer just to get it to not stall in parking lots. My wife drives the truck occasionally with out any problems. I'm really happy with this cam.
The good gas milage has alot to do with tuning and less with the cam selection.

I have manley dual springs with titanium retainers. The 918's would probably be OK. I felt a little more comfortable with dual springs. I have really tight piston to valve clearances and I rev it to 6700 just about every time I drive it.

I bought the heads milled already, the machine shop I brought them to cc'd them and came up with 55 cc's. After CCing them they made one pass to clean up the surface.
If I remember right I had .090 clearance on the intake valve and .095 on the exhaust.
