Are the main bolts torque to yield bolts or not?

Sure as hell didnt look tq to yield to me or mjhoward. Either way I put arp main studs in my motor. FYI the side bolts for the mains arent tq to yield either.

They must be tq to yield according to the tq specs. Never looked into it before due to not reusing them anyway.

it doesn't say not to reuse them so why would they be torque to yeild? but it says use new crank bolt so maybe it is?

I have never seen a non-tq to yield bolt that had tq + degrees of rotation it the tourqing sequence. Your gm parts department shoud be able to tell you for sure.

I finally got to talk to someone at ARP that could get things done. They have 15 sets of main and head studs coming out of R&D. Guess who's having set shipped to them friday Finally more parts for me...

Sorry- can't help with your question- just siked about getting the studs.
