Why NOS? Nitrous Express and ZEX are better companies from what i've read.

ooooooohhhh. Can't tow with a camaro. Or a NOVA since that's what he's putting it in.

But I'd love to have a cammed 5.3 Nova.

The Nova had a 406 gen 1 with a NOS Big shot, progressive controller, Reverse manual th350, trans brake, 6000 stall, ford 9 inch 4.11 full spool, 10.5 tire and street legal. Ran 9.91. Sold the engine last year now want something different so decided to use the 5.3. Something different and use resources on hand. Found a victor jr intake for cheap and msd box. Just need some headers, pistons, rods, bearings, etc and a good set of flowing heads. I have a 1182 cfm carb and looking into a new nitrous set up. All depends on the cash flow.

Yea my truck will tow this to the track since it is 100 miles away. I only have a 8 gallon fuel cell in the Nova.

I bet a turbo 5.3 done right will put that deeper into the 9's.

Jim was running in the 8's with Turbo 5.3 in his fairmont.

Well, just bought a billet 4.00" crankshaft. That might change my route now. Maybe a 6.0 block??? Or a 383????? There is no replacement for displacement!!
I should put it in my truck engine- too bad that is all ready to go in!! It is just a DD with a few goodies!

Got my pistons the other day. Set of Mahles. Now I need a set of 6.125 rods to use with nitrous. And a good set of flowing heads and camshaft.

I'm also building a 383 iron 5.3 block, FWIW Be Carefull with N20 and those Mahle pistons as they have a tendancy to break rings lands under N20, heck they break even when its a NA motor, You should be using a 2618 Forged Piston like CP/Diamond/Wiseco ect not a 4032 high silcon piston like a Mahle, I hate to be the guy with the bad news i just don't want to see ya blow it up especially if its preventable

is your 383 going into your truck? if so what kind of cam did you choose? I am trying to decide on a cam for mine right now. The short block is almost done!
