my 4.8 cam experiment
well, as a few of u know, i have an iron ls1 shortblock i bought. along with it came a comp xr281hr cam. specs are 228/230 571/573 112. Im dropping in the ls1 in about 6-8 weeks. So this friday, im gonna put that cam in my 4.8, and have Charlie retune it. I know I know, ppl are give me **** b/c they say its too big, but i wanna see how well it will run. I have a circle-d 3k stall, 4.10s, lts and an awsome tuner, so we will see how she does!! i will put up a vid as soon as i do it.

I firmly believe that there is no replacement for displacement, and more cubes is always better. However, I think that the 4.8/5.3 engines have alot more potential than everybody wants to give them. It's nice to see people starting to get a little bit more 'radical' with the smaller cubes, to see what can be done. Up here, 6.0 blocks go for a premium because of the mentality that the smaller engines are no good. Some of us know better.

exactly what i set out to do! people still thought i was crazy or throwing my money away. I'm excited to see what track times/dyno numbers you come up with.
I am in the middle of an experiment myself. I am trying a different intake than most are willing to try and got the heads done up. Hoping to hit mid to low 12s on an n/a 4.8l in a truck body
