It will work with stock heads, but will def shine more so with heads that can handle the flow.. That cam will work alot better in a lighter set up, with a BIG converter, steep gearing.. Bigger is not always better, big huge donkey dick cams do not always work as good as smaller grinds in given set ups..

Ok, let me ask you a question. Why do you want a camshaft in the .600" lift range? What is the main purpose of that much lift???
To run an MS4 without catastrophe, you will need to upgrade almost every valvetrain component, not to mention a hefty stall (3500+) and a steep gear, minumim 3.42. The MS4 is a great camshaft, don't get me wrong, but it is MASSIVE in a 5.3!!! You have to realize, you are only working with a 323 cubic inches. You can't go huge on camshaft without making major changes in the valvetrain/cyl. head dept. And always remember, nasty sounding camshafts don't always make the most power.
In my personal opinion, I would recommend our HT1 Truck Cam (214/218 | .559/.562 | 111 LSA). This is our most popular cam for the 5.3L. The 111 LSA gives you a very choppy idle, but still makes good power and torque throughout the RPM range, with very crisp throttle response compared to stock. It's a night & day difference, believe me. Expect to pull past 6000 rpm with this camshaft, supporting valvetrain, and a dead on tune. If you still want to go bigger, there is our HT4 (224/236 | .581/.602 | 116 LSA). It is more suite for the bigger cubic inch 6.0L but would still be an option for a 5.3.
With either camshaft, I would recommend doing at least a 2500 stall torque converter, 3.42+ gear, and DEFINATELY a tune from a reputable LS shop, in addition to an upgraded valvetrain.
Feel free to give us a call, PM, or e-mail and we can further discuss your options to suit your needs. A custom ground camshaft may the be best choice for you, and if so, we ae more than capable to handle that. Let us know how we can help you!

LOL! How are yall even entertaining a MS4 in a 5.3? I doubt it would even run.
Op,
Get the money together and buy a roots style blower. Even with a properly sized cam, that truck is still going to be slow.
