without stall, small baby cam but i think you would regret later and misspend money.

i have a similar build and got a tr224 with a 3400 stall and have driven up to 4.5 hours one way with no issues that i am confident i could go anywhere with it...

oh ok thx low2001gmc.well i guess im going to go ahead and finish up the swap entirely then look into a 3200-3400 stall and just get sumthing figured out with pat g. and also look for sum 243's to get ported...i may spend money on things that i want now but if its just basically a waste mite as well just wait...im one of those people that buys heads, cam, stall, intake all at once...its like x-mas morning all over again and it gets all together instead of just buying one at time...

new cams are $400 across the board. don't matter if it's off the shelf or custom grind.

If that's what you were asking when you said "how much will it run me"

Get the EPS 218/226 truck torque cam. I ordered one with 4 degrees advance ground in because I do some light towing, but it sounds like straight up would suit you better.

Personally I have just purchased a Thunder Racing tr224. I was told by numerous shops(texas speed, thunder racing, etc.) that the tr224 is about as big as you can go without doing a stall which I am doing. I am running a whipple supercharger as well and with all the tuning I have done it actually drives very well and gets the same fuel milage as it did before. I wouldn't be worried about driving my truck across the country without any hiccups.
