They look like your run of the mill SBC head, they don't appear to be the fuelie head or camel hump...... What were they listed as?

They werent listed i knew they were chevy so i bought them. They def have been milled . They valves stick out so far they will not sit flush on a table.

I tend to agree. Whatever the case, they are not just old run of the mill heads, beings they sport more modern heart shaped combustion chambers.

My local performance shop said they looked badass. Im going to have him give them a good cleaning and once over. My new 350 build will be around them. The valves are 202 so they should flow well and since my cam is a 479 lift he said double eyebrow pistons would clear valves just fine. All i need now is some big rockers.

Majority of your sbc head sport the " heart shaped " chamber, the more you mill the head the more pronounced the shape is. I have owned/built dozens of sbc/bbc motors using stock and aftermarket parts. When you buy world products parts, you know it!! The have stampings of a globe everywhere, engravings of their name on faces of the castings and on the insides of the heads where the pushrod retainers go. They will even stamp info on the inside of the head(as well as the face of the casting) WORLD PRODUCTS SPORTSMAN 2 followed by a few numbers ( used to determine valve size, spring size and CC ) soo as mentioned those heads don't look very special. Even if the intake valve sticks out a bit, it wasn't uncommon for builders to "stuff" bigger valves from other heads in sbc heads and then mill them down for CR.

Have you personally measured the valves yourself? Just curious




Ps, if you do a bit of googling with the casting numbers you will figure what heads they are, what they fit and what block they came from. It is a bit time consuming but worth the end result, you may be dealing with 307 boat anchors instead of high comp 400 heads..... See my point

Ok found out they are very old/early dart heads. 49cc .angle milled 2.08 valve.

good luck fitting an intake on that.
i had some early sportsman heads milled to 58 and it was a nightmare getting the intake on it right. i had the cut down the intake a ton where it bridges the lifter valley, and i had to use really thick gaskets.

not necessarily true. i had an early pair of sportsmans that had no markings, similar to the heads in the photos.
