Default Need Some Advice

Ok I have a 2002 escalade 6.0 vortec AWD with paxton Novi 1200 supercharger. The other day truck threw a misfire on cylinder 5 and starting running like crap. I pulled the plug, wire, and coil and replaced all of it. When i pulled the old plug out the very tip of the plug was broken off. Im almost positve the piston hit it or the ring poped off and hit it. the truck is blowing out white smoke also. Im not 100 percent sure if that is what it is but after replacing all that it still runs the same. And ideas it could be other than that and not having to tear apart my block? If it is that, im looking for some ideas of forged internals i might go with. Any help would be great.

Most likely the cylinder is toast. Common for the piston land to let go for various reasons, usually detonation. Short of tearing down the engine a compression/leak down test will verify the necessity of a rebuild.

Depending on what you want to do with it.. If you keep it the way it is, no reason to forge it. But if you plan to push it then it wouldn't be a bad idea.. These engines have no problems making big hp, but the tune has to be on, have plenty of fuel, so leaning issues doesn't occur.. Who does your tuning, is your set up Icooled??

Just scoped it, have a hole in the piston and the cylinder walls are torn up. Not Sure what i should do. buy a used motor or bore this one out. Anyone have an ideas? My set up now has an aftercooler top mount.

You will first need to pull it and see how bad the score is in the cyl wall.. Then you will know what you can do with it. Who is your tuner??

CFT tuned the truck originally, I was going to get it re tuned by mike norris in orlando. Im kinda on a tight budget so im just trying to find out the best way to go about this and one that will still be reliable.
