I wouldn't think so. I had a 216/220 cam with LS6 springs with the stock stall for a couple weeks and the thing felt great everywhere.

Everybody has different preferences, since yours is an EXT cam it weighs more. It should be okay, what is your gears and tire size also? The 212/218 isn't a huge cam by any means, but even a good 2800Rpm converter would make a lot of difference later on down the road.

You can always get the cam now, and if you aren't real happy then save up for a ~$400 converter.

I have this exact cam in my ex cab 4.8 and it runs superb. Good power throughout, but really starts pulling around 2500+rpm. It will not like to idle in gear very well before you tune it though, so if you end up getting it, make sure a tune arrives soon after. Also welcome to PT

Slammed,
I have an 01 ECSB with 4.8. If one was to go with this cam set up what would you do for heads?
