new head porting process
Talking with a local guy who builds race engines today told me about a process for porting heads where they use a thick paste like substance that contains abrasives. They force the material through the heads and it ports. The cool thing is that unlike cnc porting where a machine program is made that simulates the way air should flow through the heads this material actually flows through the heads taking out material along the same path as air would flow.
I forget the name it was something strange I had never heard of it. anyone else know anything about this?

Import guys use it hardcore. Lots of Z guys do that on the 300zx upper manifolds. I'd like to find somewhere in town to do that, I imagine it's much cheaper than buying new, ported heads.
