It makes better TQ below 8000rpms like that and with the higher LS it makes more TQ above 8000rpms...

Ok thats what i thought you meant but you said

With a tighter LSA there will be more overlap. Please see chart.

I ran that cam in my heavy *** truck with a 3K and it was a bit sluggish on 32" all terrain tires. You need something in like comps 212/218 on a 114 it wont have much lope to it but it will make the truck run well with a 3K stall and tall tires. With those tall tires and the relatively small size motor you are limited on your choices to get what you are wanting out of that combo. The best thing he could do to make it faster is either drop the tire size or swap a 6L into with the cam I stated and it will be a tq monster but wont have hardly any lope to it.

If the LSA is 114 the overlap can be 38/48/or 58 degrees... They do not have to be one in the same.

And it also depends on which type of overlap you are refering to...I was refering to Closed and smaller LSA's...

I am confusing sometimes but i almost have a clue....LOL

Are there any cams out there that would work well with his set up and still have a nice lope to it?

I still think the 216/220 on a 112 would be best for you... a 2800 stall will get you moving... what gears does he have in the rear with those tires??

I'm running a similar cam, the tr224. the specs are 224/224 .563 .563 on 114lsa. i have a 00 rcsb siverado. i'm running a tb stall and the best 60' is a 2.22. love the way this cam pulls up top, but would recommend at least a 3000 stall preferably a 3500.
