So got the truck pretty dialed in on hptuners. I interfaced the wideband by using the egr sensor voltage pinout on the pcm, a little bit of a learning curve. Drove the truck for around 4 hours tuning the ve tables. Engine feels strong but started developing a tick (not knock) when hot. I went through the exhaust and think I took care of a leak under the trans pan. I have pacesetter long tubes into speed engineering dual 3s. I haven’t had a chance to take it back out on the road to see if the problem is solved yet. If it’s not a leak, I might be looking into replacing some lifters. Anyone have any tricks for spotting an exhaust leak? Truck is so loud that it’s impossible to audibly find a leak. Ill also copper spray the drivers exhaust gasket for good measure.
Aside from that, just got in some new Hoosier 295/50/16s and looking forward to making it to the strip before they close (end of October). Hoping to run 11.5s at 118ish

Put a smoke machine on the end of your exhaust pipe and start it up. Smoke will come out somewhere.

I just separated the bank 1 header, and there were visible exhaust leaks in all but one cylinder on that side. I had installed mahle mls manifold gaskets because the price was right and ratings were good on Amazon. I probably should’ve went with the gm gaskets. I cleaned it up with some lacquer thinner and hit it with copper gasket spray. If that doesn’t work, I’ll order some gm gaskets. At least I found the source of the “ticking”.

For exhaust leaks
Duck tape a shop vac to the tail pipe and seal it off. Turn the shop vac on in reverse so it's blowing air out instead of sucking it in.
Now while the exhaust is cold spray soapy water all over your exhaust. It will bubble where there are leak. If the exhaust is still hot it will just evaporate away. to fast. Work like a charm and is really easy.
