pistons decked and hone LS1
I have a 2002 LS1 I just got back from the machine shop. This is what the machine shop did to it.
vat
Decked the block .008
Honed the block .0025-.003 (Finished size 3.9005-3.901)
Im trying to figure out if my deck height is off now, am i going to have to mill the top of the pistons? Also is std. bore pistons what i need?
If anyone has the email to someone that will help me out with this id appreciated it. I cant seem to find anyones email at texas speed, thats where i plan on ordering most of my parts from.

Standard LS1 bore 3.898.
You would have to measure the actual pistons you plan to use to see how far off they are from the new bore size. My best guess would be more then .003 would slap pretty good especially on cold start up.
As far as the deck goes you need to assemble the engine and measure how far out of the hole it is. That is the only way to know for sure. If your more then .010 out of the hole, you need a special thicker head gasket.
