Why not use a set of L92 square port heads they flow better than ported LS6 heads.
Also would save a few dollars!

Looking forward to your new results and track times Lisa! Sorry to hear that your 5.3 took a dump, but it sounds like you have a real sweet plan B

those few dollars would be easily replaced by switching the rest of the top end to a square.

good luck with your build

If it was me, I'd get a low mile LY6 and do the L92 heads/intake. You already have gears and a really nice daily driver Yank stall.

Aren't the LS6 heads the same as your 706 heads but with hollow intake valves?

Thats what I was thinking too Matt... I agree with skeet for sure, just get some 706's done up right and save some cash... the LS6's bring more money just because of the valve weight and casting number. which doesnt mean anything if youre having them done anyway...

Its your build but I think I would have stuck with the GEN IV heads/ that come on the LY6. Thats just about a no-brainer. IMO.

Thanks Billy... I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks Matt. Who's 706's? I have the 60cc Patriots that are on the 5.3l now, and the orig loaded stock heads, that are wrapped in plastic, and in a box in the garage. And I have a Vig 3400 Stall. Hell what's another $900, maybe in the NEXT trans build.

The LS6's that are coming with the build are PRC CNC Stage 2.5, Bare.
Factory GM 2.02 Inch Intake, and Factory GM 1.57 Inch Exhaust.
PRC .650' Dual Spring Kit.

I agree that the 706 heads would be a great choice. It's the additional funds that I'm lacking. My goal was to stay within a budget including the install and tune.

We're just waiting for the "nasty" cam... Hint 110 lsa.
