why cant you just get a 5.3 shortblock? They're cheap

right now nothing is cheap for me. its that time of the year where I'm broke lol. if i had $1000 for a short block I'd just buy rods and pistons. i could do all that for a little over a grand.

Check craiglist. Getting a good 5.3 shortblock for $300 shouldn't be a problem. Hell, I would have given you my 4.8 for free...ended up throwing it in the junkyard. Perfectly good motor, but no where to store it and needed it out of the bed of my truck

that sucks lol. the turbo would have made that faster lol.

Seriously, watch craigslist like a hawk. That's where I see the best deals. Someone is selling a 4000 mile LS2 engine for $1500 in my area
