prc 2.5 5.3L heads on a 370?
im helping a friend on a '02 camaro project. he already has these heads and is leaning toward an iron block 370. this motor will be N/A, maybe some nitrous at some point. first of all, are these heads gonna be too small for that size bore? also, he already has a LS6 intake that he will be using. the '04 and up 6.0 has the better rods, correct?
one more thing, what piston size would net 10.5:1 comp. with these heads? what brandpistons would you guys recommend. i have always ran weisco in all my 2stroke and 4 stroke atv motors, but have heard they are on the heavy side?

LS1Truck - The reason that you did not get any help is you did not provide enough info for anyone to provide an intelligent answer. Here are some general answers to your questions
Heads - Those heads are likely OK for the application. However, there are certainly better out there but they will like cost more money or require changing intakes, etc. If you want a better answer than that you need to state what you mean by "too small". Are you talking about the valve sizes, port volumes, chamber volume, flow potential, etc? What horsepower is he shooting for and/or what rpm range is he looking to run?
Rods - I believe that you are correct that the rods were improved sometime during the 04 model year.
Pistons Size - too many variables to determine Compression ratio. You need to spec the cylinder chamber volume, stroke (stock I assume), bore (4.03 I assume), compression height (or projected piston out of hole measurement), gasket thickness, gasket diameter, etc.
Piston Manufacturer - Since you didn't mention upgrading rod, rod bolts, etc. I would think that you wouldn't be running 7k + rpm or more than 200 N2O. Most aftermarket pistons should be fine at those levels.

04crew, i was just looking for some general guidelines. everything is still up in the air for this build except for the heads which he already has. i was mainly talking about the bore size being too large. this will most likely be a stock crank/rod motor, so yes, 4.03 bore. rod bolts, etc. will be upgraded since it will already be apart.
thanks for your response
