Default Problem adjusting valves

Ok, I have jesel adjustable rockers. I have tried twice to adjust them. Before i finish at least two lifters lose pressure/prime. Each time it was different ones and the ones that went down yesterday were ok today
When they go, you can push down on the lifter side of the rocker with lttle resistance.
Today we cranked it to try and pump them back up after they went down but it did not work. I have moved my coils so i can crank it with the valve covers off.
Anybody have suggestions. Thanks

Is the motor able to be run without the valve covers on? If so you could adjust them while running using a mechanics stethescope. A friend of mine has done them this way for years with excellent results. It is not the easiest or cleanest, but it is the one way that works for him. Let me know if you want more info. Good luck!!!

Not sure if my info would be of help to you, since I have never set lifters on these motors, but I have done TONS of hydraulic lifters on SBC. You shouldn't need to have the lifters "pumped up" there is a little spring in them that holds the piston at the top of the lifter. I always rotate the motor till the opposite valve on the cylinder I'm working on is open so I know I'm on the back side of the lobe and then run the adjuster down till it just touches the pushrod (0 lash) and then I take them about another 1/2 turn. That should put the piston in the middle of it travel range or there about. They may still feel spongy, but once you fire the motor and get oil pressure they will self adjust and you should be good. I hope that helps.

I'm running jessel adjustables also and this is pretty much how I adjusted mine. No problem and I have 10K miles on the rocker adjustments.

Adjusting them while running is actually easier, just messy. Back them off then run them down till they quit ticking then 1/2-3/4 turn.

This morning the two in question were pumped again
Adjusted it, cranked it and all seems well. We'll see what happens next.
