Stock lifters are fine. But, stronger pushrods and better springs are a good idea. Scoggin-Dickey can give you a good price if you want new ones. www.sdparts.com

00-07 classic without DOD you can use the stock lifters and 7.4 pushrods to compensate for the smaller base circle of the cam.
This thread is specifically for the 07+ with DOD or 08 (whenever it started). The DOD lifters can not handle the stress of after market cam lobes. Which is why they need replaced.
If you replace them with the LS7 lifters you must use 7.35 pushrods because the LS7 lifters are longer and already compensate for the smaller base cirlce of the cam. You can't compensate twice.
So 03true Fire this would NOT apply to you. Just get some hardened 7.4's and springs and you are good.

00-07 classic without DOD you can use the stock lifters and 7.4 pushrods to compensate for the smaller base circle of the cam.
